Is Matte Lipstick right for you?

Is matte lipstick right for you?
Matte lipstick divides opinion. Some swear by its staying power and elegance. Others remember dry, chalky formulas from years ago and never look back. But today’s matte isn’t like that — and ours definitely isn’t.
Here’s what to know before you make the switch.
How it feels
Matte lipstick feels like nothing.
That’s part of the appeal.
It’s not glossy or oily, and it won’t slip around. Once applied, it sets to a soft, velvety finish that feels weightless — almost like a second skin.
Unlike traditional creamy lipsticks, it’s not made with slippery oils that stay wet on the surface. But that doesn’t mean it’s drying. Our formula includes vitamin E and natural oils to keep lips comfortable and conditioned throughout the day.
You won’t feel it move, and that’s the point — it’s makeup that stays put, quietly doing its job.
How it’s different to creamy lipstick
A creamy bullet lipstick stays soft and moisturising because it’s made with a higher concentration of emollient oils and waxes. That texture feels luxurious, but it also means it transfers easily — onto cups, clothes, or anyone you kiss.
Matte liquid lipstick works differently. It starts liquid and then sets as the lightweight base ingredients evaporate, leaving behind pure pigment and a flexible film. That’s what makes it long-wearing, smudge-resistant, and crisp-edged — without needing a liner.
The benefits
- Longer wear: Matte lipstick lasts far longer than creamy formulas. You can expect several hours of comfortable wear without fading.
- Precision: It stays where you put it, so your lip line stays defined.
- Confidence: No smudging, no bleeding, no mid-morning touch-ups.
- Versatility: Apply one coat for a statement look, or dab a little on and blend for a soft-blurred finish.
Essentially, it gives you all the payoff with none of the melting.
What it will (and won’t) do
Matte lipstick will last longer than a creamy lipstick. It will resist transfer and stay neat through meetings.
It won’t, however, survive a meal. Any oil — in food or even milk — will start to dissolve it. That’s not a flaw, it’s chemistry. Oils break down long-wear makeup pigments, so once you eat, expect some sort of removal effect. The good news? Reapplication is quick, clean, and never cakey.
How to remove it
Because it’s built to last, matte lipstick needs a little help coming off. Skip makeup wipes and reach for an oil-based remover or balm cleanser instead. Gently massage over the lips until the pigment lifts, then wipe clean. The same oils that break it down during lunch work perfectly here too.
The takeaway
If you like your lipstick to look polished, stay put, and feel like nothing at all, matte is for you. It’s beauty that works in your life — not beauty that takes over it
