The difference is in the removal. This set replaces acetone with a nourishing Remover Serum that dissolves polish while hydrating your nails.

This product is the new water-based version of our popular Miracle Base Coat.

Application: Wash and dry hands. Apply one thin coat of polish and allow 10 mins to dry. Do not get your hands wet for 1 hour after application. Follow with nail oil pen once dry.

Removal: Apply one coat of remover serum to nails. Leave for 5 minutes. Wipe away with a cotton pad. Wash hands thoroughly after use.

The Remover Serum is formulated specifically for our functional nail polish systems and will not remove traditional nail polish. Just as importantly, do not use traditional remover on this polish, as that reintroduces the acetone the set is designed to avoid.

What to expect

Straight away: Nails look smoother and more even, with a soft, sheer, healthy-looking glow.

While you wear it: It wears like a normal polish and lasts around 5 days. Water-based does not mean it washes off.

Over time: With continued use, as healthier nail grows out to replace the damaged nail, you should see less splitting and peeling. A fingernail takes around 4 to 6 months to grow out fully, so this works best as an ongoing routine, not a one-off fix.

At removal: The Remover Serum lifts the polish in about five minutes while hydrating, so nails are not left dry or flaky the way they often are after acetone.

HOW TO APPLY

Water-based nail polish correctly

Wash and dry hands with soap and warm water, then make sure your nails are completely dry.

Wipe each nail with rubbing alcohol. This clears away the natural oils on the surface, so the polish can bond properly and last longer.

Apply one thin coat of your water-based nail polish. Do not allow the polish to touch any of your surrounding skin or the polish will lift. It should look thinner than you think it needs to be. Allow it to dry for 10 minutes. Do not apply a second coat.

Keep your hands away from water for at least one hour. The water needs to completely dry for the film to set properly. Water contact within the first hour can lift it in one piece or make it bubble and peel.

Once the hour is up, apply nail and cuticle oil to the skin around each nail and to the underside of the tip. Apply your cuticle oil as often as you can throughout the day. This helps to protect your nails from excess water absorption which can cause peeling and flaking.

HOW TO REMOVE

Using your Remover Serum

After 3-4 days, apply a coat of remover serum to each nail. Leave for 5 minutes to dissolve the polish.

Use a cotton pad to wipe the polish and remover from each nail.

Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and warm water to remove any residue.

No, and we want to be clear about that. This is a cosmetic product, not a treatment, so it cannot repair a nail that is already damaged. What it does is protect and strengthen the nail as it grows, using active ingredients like biotin, millet and horsetail, and help minimise further splitting and peeling. Real improvement comes as healthier new nail grows out to replace the damaged nail, which takes around 4 to 6 months for fingernails.

It works in two ways. While you wear it, it conceals and protects the damaged nail and its active ingredients support a stronger nail plate. Over time, it helps minimise the splitting and peeling that hold damaged nails back, so the healthier nail growing underneath has a better chance to come through.

It depends on how you want to recover. The Nail Rescue System (serum and oil) is a bare-nail treatment routine and goes deeper. This set is for when you want to keep wearing colour while your nails recover. Many people use the system at night and this polish day to day if they have important meetings or occasions.

The polish is water-based and made to release with the Remover Serum, so it lifts off with a five-minute wipe and none of the harsh fumes of acetone. They are built to work as a pair. Using another remover means a harsher removal and the stripped, dried-out nails this set is designed to prevent.

It does not wash off. This is not a children's peel-off polish. It wears like a normal polish and lasts around 5 days. When you want it off, you use the Remover Serum.

Yes. Most of the damage from a manicure comes from the acetone used to remove it, and this set takes that step out entirely. The polish is water-based and lifts away with the Remover Serum, which hydrates with sweet almond oil and vitamin E rather than stripping your nails.

No. It is not designed to be worn under traditional polish, because you would then need traditional remover to take it all off, which strips your nails and defeats the point of the set.

We removed the ethyl acetate and butyl acetate that give traditional polish its strong smell, so the polish has very little odour. Low enough to paint your nails in bed. The Remover Serum has a light, fruity scent, nothing like a solvent-based remover.

Comes off in water. Water makes it gluggy then it peels off. Doesn’t cover ridges.

Hi Genie, thank you so much for your review. The Rescue Nail Polish isn't designed to cover ridges, for that the Smoothing System and Polish is what we would recommend. In regards to it coming off in water, this only happens if you have applied it too thickly (which we often tend to do when trying to cover ridges) and the film hasn't dried properly. You also can't get your nails wet within an hour of application. If you apply it in one thin coat, and keep your hands out of water for at least 1 hour then the polish wears like a traditional polish. I have had mine on for 5 days now.
